Wind Update
We are entering into some very fluid weather, and a lot of shifting will be going on within the models run by run, more so than typical. For the majority of us who have been through a New England winter to spring transition, we know this is normal. That snowstorm that popped up for the 10th on the noon run will be gone by the afternoon run, but a new one will pop up for the 8th that wasn't there previously. It always happens this way. Nothing new, nothing abnormal, nothing overly concerning. This is why we focus on what is within the next 3 days and I cannot emphasize that enough.
Typically, we can tell who the new followers are in the comments as they are the ones who usually post their doubts and pull the "I'll believe it when I see it card", but lately, we've seen this more from long time followers.
You would think, anyone who has followed this page longer than a day would know how things go, but apparently some people need a reminder.
Folks... bottom line.... on this page, I read the model data and the maps and provide you with my interpretation of it. My word is not Gospel and absolutely everything is subject to change. That's all this is, my interpretation. So yes, it may differ with what someone else says. It almost always will differ from what your app says, that's a given. Sometimes other pages and meteorologists may be in agreement with me, sometimes their interpretation may be different. Those who have followed this page for more than a minute know my reputation blows a lot of the others out of the water, so I am really not worried.
As this current system pulls away, it will be replaced by cold air which will condense leftover moisture in the atmosphere and create snow. This will primarily be isolated to the far north and the higher elevations. The northern Maine coast may see some snow as moisture drawn in from the ocean is cooled and condensed into the snow.
Saturday will feel like winter again outside and Friday may have a November feel given the expected wind chills.
Speaking of the wind, strong wind gusts are expected to ramp up overnight tonight through the day Friday, and into Friday night/Saturday morning. We the attached maps for more details on that. Maps are the best I could do today given that I have had a tremor in my right hand most of the day that won't go away.
