Update on the current storm
No significant changes to today’s forecast.
Keep in mind that as many areas still have frost in the ground, the absorption rate of the rain will be limited coupled with recent snow melt. The top layer is pretty saturated meaning that a lot of this water will end up as runoff. Droughts aren’t cured overnight, and the limited liquid content of the snow we received over the past winter season was not enough to cleanse us of that drought. We’ll talk about that another day.
The wind map I included is your maximum expected wind gusts. Average wind gusts will be in the 20-30mph range, higher at the coast.
As far as snow, very little to nothing at all. Might see some frozen mix at times tonight, but odds of having to plow anything are low.
Icing on the other hand, there is a potential for a light glaze, but that will be very isolated areas.
