I posted my snow map earlier and current data is pushing me to keep it and not make any changes. Models are showing totals increasing a bit, so if anything, I will have to go up rather than down, but I am feeling good about where it currently is.
Average of 3-6 inches is what I expect. Some areas a little more, some a little less. Far western MA, northwest CT, and northern NH in the White Mountains can expect more than the rest.
TIMING-
Monday:
8pm- leading edge enters New England from the southwest and begins to fill in towards the northeast.
10pm- all of CT is seeing snow and mostly through central MA just west of Worcester. The southern tip of VT starts to see snow begin to form on radar.
Tuesday:
1am- Snow begins to fill in across southern NH and most of VT. Most of MA is into the snow at this point except Essex county which fill in over the next hour.
4am- Most of the region is seeing snow. Snow is just starting in western ME.
7am- we may see a slow down in forward progression at this point which means that this is where those areas seeing snow will begin to pick up their totals. Snow should be falling in western Maine by this point.
10am- Snow is still slowly moving to the northeast now entering central Maine.
1pm- Rain begins to mix in on the cape and southern CT and RI. Snow is still moving northeast while is begins to wind down to the south.
4pm- Almost all of Maine is seeing snow.
7pm- Snow is just about finishing up in southern New England.
10pm- Snow is still lightly falling around central New England as it begins to move out. Rain may begin to mix in along the MA coast.
Wednesday:
7am- System should be just about completely moved out by this point. Some lingering snow showers may remain for northern Maine.
