On to the next one... Sunday-Monday
No rest for the weary and even though this one isn’t done yet, it’s time to move onward to the next one.
WHAT- Coastal Storm / Nor’easter
TIMING- Sunday afternoon precipitation starts and overspreads north and east through the night into the early morning. Storm lasts into late Monday.
P-TYPES- Rain. A lot of rain. Snow. A decent amount of snow. Ice, just a little bit.
See the attached maps for a general idea of how this will set up.
HAZARDS- Coastal flooding from abnormally high, high tide mixed with this storm. High winds along the coast. Wind gusts less than 30mph inland.
Some things to take into account. This storm is warm. I feel that after this last one, we are going to have trouble hanging on to the cold air for the majority of the region. Northern Maine and New Hampshire have a good chance at some decent snow for the ski areas, however it will be similar to the consistency of the snow from this latest storm.
This is a nor’easter. It is going to grab onto the cold air from the north. I think it’s going to be too little, too late by the time it finally reaches that point. It is pointing pretty close to shore which will keep is from strengthening a whole lot all at once. Once it enters the Gulf of Maine it could take off and strengthen quickly, but I feel it will not be enough to bring snow to central or southern New England.
