Passing snow showers over Cape Cod and southern New England today as a result of that system passing by to our south. That would have been a good snowmaker for us, but alas here we are.
Thursday and Friday the north country will see some passing snow showers. This isn’t really associated with any storm system and will be random.
This weekend, cold and blustery. Windchill watches are already in place for Friday into Saturday. This cold is no joke, especially for domestic animals. I won’t go into the whole “if you’re cold, they’re cold”, but just be smart and safe.
Temps Friday and Saturday will average in the teens and single digits with the exception of the far north where they will already be dealing with negative numbers. Windchill factors will end up averaging -30 for most of the region with down to -50 or less for the far north. Think of it as a field trip to Antarctica for the day.
As the arctic front moves through Friday into Saturday, it will bring some strong wind gusts in the 30-40mph range. While overall not that bad, the windchills will be the worst part.
