More snow, rain, and ice on the way
Get ready because things are about to get very, very busy this week really quickly.
Very cold tonight. Coldest night of the season so far for many. Lows in the single digits up north, teens through central areas, and 20s to teens in the southern portion of the region. Sunday morning isn't much better with lows up north looking like negative numbers, however highs on Sunday could bring southern New England into the high 40s near low 50s.
Our next event is Saturday into Sunday. This is a primarily snow event, but this is more of an organized show shower to bands of moderate snow at times, and really that kind of nice pre-Christmas snow that just kind of lingers throughout the day while you are wrapping presents or watching Christmas movies. Sunday would probably be a nice day for a beef stew or a chowder.

Snow showers move into the area during the day Saturday and become more organized into the late evening.
The best opportunity for accumulating snow is north and west of Concord, NH, including northwestern Mass like North Adams and the Mt. Greylock area. South of Boston and Worcester are likely to see a coating at least including right on up into coastal Maine. No real rain from this system as it will be bringing lots of cold air with it.
The next system after that moves in Monday night through Tuesday and into Wednesday. From here, the edges blur together a bit as another system from the west looks to clash with a coastal system Wednesday into Thursday. The early portion of this system comes in with warm temps and rain, but that old northwest wind is going to push this system out of here bringing the increasing chance of backside snow, and even a bit of ice.
